Checheng Township

Checheng is located in the southwest of Pingtung County, Taiwan, serving as a gateway to the Hengchun Peninsula and Kenting.

The main highlights are the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (NMMBA), Fu'an Temple, and Sihzhongsi Hot Spring.

Take the High-Speed Rail to Zuoying Station, then transfer to the 'Kenting Express' bus which stops at Checheng and the NMMBA transfer point.

It's a year-round destination. Winter is great for hot springs, while summer is perfect for the aquarium and coastal activities.

Don't miss the Green Bean Garlic Soup (a sweet dessert), salted duck eggs, and local onion-based dishes.

1 to 2 days is ideal. You can spend a full day at the aquarium and an evening relaxing in the hot springs.

Yes, it's very family-friendly, especially the NMMBA which offers interactive exhibits and overnight sleepover programs.

It is one of Taiwan's four famous hot springs, known for its clear, alkaline sodium bicarbonate water that is gentle on the skin.

Nearby spots include Hengchun Old Town, Kenting National Park, and Baishawan, all within a 30-minute drive.

It is recommended to book NMMBA tickets on KKday to skip the lines. The 'Sleepover at the Aquarium' requires booking months in advance.
