The tour guide was friendly and beautiful, and the driver was handsome and fun. Along the way, the guide introduced the unique features and historical changes of the attractions we passed, explained the meaning of the blue bow stickers on the restaurant doors, and even told us about some hidden gems and a list of restaurants. The whole experience was very interesting and provided a deep understanding of Seoul. The guide also mentioned that there are different tour routes in each season. I highly recommend everyone to take the tram tour!
Because I was Japanese and the only person on the tour, the tour was originally supposed to be guided by an English speaker, but they kindly assigned me a Japanese-speaking guide. He spoke excellent Japanese, was knowledgeable, and very easy to talk to! The day before, I had personally taken a night bus tour to Namsan, so I learned about the identity of the statue at Gwanghwamun, near the meeting point, and the history of the place where we saw Namsan Tower. I asked many questions, but the knowledgeable Kim answered them all in fluent Japanese. We had an unexpectedly enjoyable lunchtime, choosing our favorite foods at the market. Thanks to this tour, I was able to eat out and explore alone on my second visit to Korea. I had seen a movie about the KCIA beforehand, but I was able to actually go there. Finally, at the "Democratization Movement Memorial Hall," I witnessed the brutal past and realized that Japan had inherited the negative practices it left behind. I felt sorry for them, but at the same time, I felt even more determined to share this knowledge with the people of Japan. Although the order is a little reversed, I was already able to learn a lot about Korea at our first visit to the National Museum of Korean History. I don't think I would have been able to understand it as deeply if I had visited alone. By the time we finished, it was dark outside, but I am truly grateful that you supported us thoroughly in the cold until we were finally seen off. Many Japanese people love Korea, so I strongly felt that they should start by learning about its history. I learned a lot about history, and my time in unfamiliar Korea was fulfilling. I am truly grateful that you treated me so kindly, just like you would a friend.
My family of three went on a sightseeing tour of Seoul. Our Japanese-speaking guide, Mr. Kang, was very kind and recommended tourist spots based on our requests, allowing us to spend a relaxing and fulfilling time. His explanations were easy to understand, and transportation and arrangements went smoothly. I would definitely ask Mr. Kang to be my guide again the next time I visit Seoul.
