Contacting them was quick and easy, the driver's service was excellent, and getting to the airport without having to carry luggage on the last day was incredibly convenient.
It was so much fun being so close to the animals. Feeding the giraffes was amazing. There were a lot of slopes. The food at the food stalls outside was delicious.
No need to walk by land, saving a lot of time! (I also took this ferry for Ship's Cat; I wonder if the cat will still be there after the art festival.) Overseas tourists can only buy the most basic ticket through KKDay, but there are plenty of seats. If you pay extra at the counter before boarding, you can go to an area with Wi-Fi and showers. There are announcements when passing the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge; overall, a good experience!
Sensei is very fun, alternating between simple English, Japanese, and Cantonese to ensure you understand clearly and easily 😆 It's also very witty and humorous! So even if you're just attending a workshop with a friend, it's not boring at all.
Online transactions are easy to process, and messages are received quickly. Upon arrival, I simply showed the QR code on my mobile phone at the counter, and they immediately gave me my ticket. They even allowed me to change to an earlier ferry, which was excellent.
Even after receiving the confirmation voucher, you still need to exchange it for a paper ticket at the ticket window. Exchange begins at 9:30 AM. Bus seats are assigned according to the order of exchange, so exchanging early will get you a better seat. The entire trip was well-paced, with ample free time, and the end time was just in time to connect to the return ferry. The group was mostly comprised of international tourists, and the tour guide only spoke Japanese throughout the trip, constantly explaining things on the bus. While this might be informative for those who speak Japanese, it could be tedious and prevent rest for those who don't.
Since this trip covered Kochi, Matsuyama, Takamatsu, Tokushima, and Okayama, and given the vast size of Shikoku, traveling by train—from Kochi to Matsuyama and from Matsuyama to Takamatsu—alone almost covered the cost of the JR Pass, not to mention the smaller local tram fares. The only drawback was that you still had to pay for public buses, for example, you'd definitely need to take a bus to some attractions in Kochi. Also, if you wanted to go to Okayama, the fare from Kojima to Okayama would be an additional 510 yen. If that were included, it would be an absolutely perfect ticket.
Although the bus tickets to Hanxia Creek are more expensive during the autumn foliage season, the scenery on the mountain is beautiful.
