I participated in a local tour organized by Kkday. The tour took us around Lake Como by bus and boat, and also included a visit to Lugano in Switzerland, so I brought my passport. It was an Italian and English-language tour, so I understood why there were so many Westerners, but I was surprised to be the only Japanese person among the 56 participants. The tour started at 8 am and ended at 7 pm, with plenty of free time at each sightseeing spot, and I was grateful that we weren't taken to souvenir shops or strange factory tours. It was mid-May and the temperature was a bit chilly at 18 degrees Celsius, but we were able to enjoy the wonderful scenery with the Alps visible in the distance. Lunch wasn't included in the tour price, so we were told to eat on our own. I asked Chappy for a recommendation and went to the highly-rated "Ristorante Bilacus." The menu said "Squid and prawn salad," but it was actually "Octopus and shrimp salad." 🤭 After the meal, I ordered coffee (Americano) and dessert (apple pie). The bill came to €56.50, and with tip I paid €60 (about 11,000 yen). Well, that seems about right. 🤔 Afterwards, I heard there was a chocolate company founded on Lake Como, so I went to their shop, "Vanini." I ordered coffee (€5) and soft serve ice cream (€6.50), which came to €11.50 (about 2,100 yen). 😅 My expectations were high, so after trying it, I felt it was a bit expensive. 😔 Even a geezer nearing 70 could participate without any difficulty or needing assistance. I recommend this tour. ☺️
It comes with a €10 gift voucher and afternoon tea, which is fantastic and excellent value. Highly recommend buying it.
