Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Krakow. Relax on the drive to Zakopane, which takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic.

Stop in Chocholow, a small village in the heart of the Tatras. Explore this open-air museum of highland rural wooden architecture and learn about the local area’s ethnographic heritage and culture. Take pictures and enjoy a tasting of mountain homemade vodka and Oscypek (smoked sheep cheese).

Next, head to Zakopane, the capital of mountain activities. Enjoy 2.5 hours of leisure time, including a cable car ride to the hilltop of Gubalowka for panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains. Visit cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops, and other attractions.

Back in Zakopane, stroll along its main streets and have lunch or dinner at a local restaurant. The best place to do this is Krupówki, the central pedestrian and shopping promenade in Zakopane.
