Product Info

• Pickup - Moose safari - Spotting Moose - Snacks - Drop-off

• There is no fixed kilometer limit—we drive as far as reasonably needed to maximize the chances of spotting moose.

• We drive through the Lapland countryside and known moose habitats to increase the chances of a sighting.

• The tour primarily focuses on moose, but we will also stop to observe other Arctic wildlife and bird species encountered along the way.

• When a moose is spotted, the guide will alert guests and, whenever conditions allow, take photographs for you.

• During the safari, the guide will also share interesting facts and information about moose, including their behavior, habitat and life in the Arctic wilderness.

• Moose are Europe’s largest land mammals, and seeing them in their natural habitat is a peaceful and memorable experience. From spring to late autumn, Lapland also offers excellent opportunities to spot a variety of animals and birds.

● Commonly found animals & birds during the Safari apart from Moose:
(Animals) ‣ Reindeer ‣ Red Fox ‣ Arctic Snow Hare ‣ Roe deer ‣ Arctic Squirrels
(Birds) ‣ Curlew ‣ Capercaillie ‣ Arctic Magpie ‣ Curlew ‣ Siberian Jay ‣ Arctic Raven ‣ Sea Eagle ‣ Siberian Jay ‣ Arctic Crane ‣ Arctic loon/Arctic Diver ‣ Whooper Swan (Yellow beak - National Bird of Finland)

● Rarely found animals and birds during the safari apart from moose:
(Animals) ‣ Wolverine ‣ Lynx ‣ Marten ‣ Beavers ‣ Brown bear (if we are lucky)
(Birds) ‣ Golden eagle ‣ Snowy owl ‣ Long-tailed skua ‣ Great grey owl ‣ Hawk owl

● Note:

• We drive unlimited kilometres until we find the moose.
• As moose are wild animals living in their natural habitat, photo opportunities cannot be guaranteed. Although we are usually able to capture photographs, the moose may occasionally remain hidden or move away quickly.
• If you feel tired during the tour, we will do our best to remain flexible and return to the city earlier. However, on shared group tours, the preferences of the other participants must also be taken into consideration.

  • Know Before You Go: Guests will remain inside the covered van for most of the safari, as European moose are naturally shy and highly sensitive to sound

  • Know Before You Go: In known moose areas, guests are kindly requested to remain silent. Moose can detect voices and even whispers from long distances, so quiet behaviour greatly improves the chance of a calm and extended sighting

  • Know Before You Go: When a moose is spotted, the guide will alert guests using a special hand signal explained before departure

  • Know Before You Go: Safety is always the priority. Moose usually avoid people, but they are powerful wild animals and must never be approached, particularly during the mating season when their behavior may be less predictable
