The experience at Chumi Farm, which includes harvesting scallions, washing them, and making scallion pancakes or scallion bread DIY, usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. This duration covers guided explanations by a professional instructor, hands-on activities, and tasting of the refreshments. You can flexibly adjust your time based on your chosen DIY items and the on-site situation.
The activity includes several engaging segments. First, a professional instructor will lead you to the Sanxing scallion fields to enjoy the fun of harvesting and washing scallions, while explaining the ecology and characteristics of Sanxing scallions. Afterwards, you'll move to an indoor air-conditioned classroom to personally make fresh scallion bread or scallion pancakes, experiencing the process from kneading to baking. Finally, you'll savor your freshly made and baked delicious treats.
Chumi Farm is located in Yilan. Driving yourself is recommended, as parking is available at the farm. If you're using public transport, you can take a train or bus to Luodong Station or Yilan Station, then transfer to a taxi or rent a scooter/car. The journey will take approximately 15-25 minutes. Ensuring smooth travel is advised.
You can book activity tickets for Chumi Farm through KKday, enjoying the convenience of instant purchase and same-day use, with guaranteed group formation even for one person, making your trip planning easy. Chumi Farm's DIY classrooms are fully air-conditioned, ensuring visitors remain comfortable while making their snacks. The outdoor scallion harvesting part is weather-dependent. Due to the indoor air conditioning, the farm is suitable for visits in all seasons – spring, summer, autumn, and winter. The air-conditioned indoor environment is a significant advantage, especially during hot or rainy weather.
Chumi Farm is very suitable for families and parent-child interaction, and it's also an ideal choice for group excursions. The farm provides professional instructor guidance, allowing both adults and children to participate easily. We recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing that you don't mind getting a little dirty, and allocating ample time to enjoy the hands-on fun and pastoral experience.
When participating in the outdoor scallion harvesting activity, it's recommended to wear light, sweat-absorbent clothing that allows for easy movement, along with non-slip shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. For summer, consider bringing a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent. During the rainy season, it's advisable to bring rain gear or wear rain boots. The farm will provide harvesting tools; you just need to bring your enthusiasm for the experience.
For the freshly made scallion pancakes or scallion bread from the DIY activity, it's best to consume them the same day while they are still fresh for the optimal flavor. If you cannot finish them immediately, store them in an airtight bag or container in a cool place and try to consume them within 1-2 days. For longer storage, consider freezing them and reheating before eating.
