Our tour guide, Henry, was very helpful, and our driver, Mr. Wei, drove smoothly and comfortably. The boat was very new and clean, and the meals were quite good. It was a very worthwhile day trip.
The pick-up from my hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter and the transfer to my hotel in Ha Long Bay was very convenient. However, the bus temporarily moved to a different location for toilet breaks, which made me a little uneasy until it returned.
The pre-trip communication was very proactive. Our group of 12 hoped for a Chinese-speaking guide, and the cruise company fulfilled our wish, allowing us to better understand Ha Long Bay. The boat was mid-to-high-class and very beautiful. Don't expect too much from the meals, given the price. The drinks on board were actually quite inexpensive, so there was no need to worry about running out of options. However, the meal on the return trip was a pleasant surprise…
The main focus is on enjoying the stunning scenery of Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's a leisurely two-day, one-night trip, with accommodations surrounded by small islands, visits to massive sea caves, and a paddleboard tour of Louon Cave. The protected area is well-maintained, and the bay is clean and clear. The downsides are that too many boats are moored together, resulting in significant light pollution at night.
