At first, I was nervous because I can't swim and the clothes weren't familiar to me, but the instructor was very gentle, comforting both adults and children, and we took lots of photos 😭. I never expected we could have such a wonderful experience. I'm so grateful to the instructor!
We started from Naha. On the way there, we took the LeaLea bus to Maeda station. Following the video directions, it's a 3-minute walk to the shop, called "Pink Mermaid." Next, you'll change into a wetsuit (make sure to wear a swimsuit underneath!). After changing, a shuttle will take you to the snorkeling spot. On the shore, you'll change into a life jacket, fins, and mask before taking a boat to snorkel! We were lucky; the weather was great, and we took many photos – a fantastic experience. For the return trip, we took the bus from Shioya station. If you want to go to American Village, you can get off at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel. To return to Naha, you can take the 8:30 PM bus; the boarding point is also in front of the Hilton Hotel.
It was raining on the day we set off, around noon. By the time we arrived at Green Cave, everyone was gone. We had it all to ourselves. The instructor was very helpful; when I mentioned that the snorkel made me feel nauseous, he immediately gave me a new one. He helped take photos and videos, so I just focused on watching the fish and the scenery. The boat trip wasn't long, and I didn't get seasick. Their parking spot is different from the meeting point. If you're driving, you can add him on Line. After giving him your information, he'll tell you where to park.
The bus had comfortable seats with cup holders/hooks and a large luggage rack. The tour guide was great, explaining a basic history of Okinawa. I recommend bringing an umbrella/slippers. Unfortunately, I chose the worst weather day 😂, so the photos don't look great, but it must be beautiful on a sunny day. The price was also cheaper than taking the bus (3700 yen round trip to Naba + 2100 yen entrance fee). Just going to the aquarium alone cost HKD290.
