The tour escort will accompany you from Shin-Fuji Station on the first day to Shin-Fuji Station on the last day.
If you decide to abandon your climb, you will be responsible for any expenses incurred for descending, waiting, overnight stays, rescue, etc.
Our company reserves the right to refuse your application or cancel the travel contract before or after the start of the trip if you do not comply with the terms and conditions of our travel agreement (application conditions, cancellation of travel contract before or after the start of the trip), the above-mentioned matters, or if you do not follow the instructions of the mountain guide and tour conductor during the trip, or if any safety issues arise such as a sudden change in your health, injury, or intoxication.
It's a good idea to separate your hiking backpack from your regular belongings before you even leave. For your hiking gear, divide the items into smaller compartments based on type and purpose, and then put everything in plastic bags for added security. (A backpack cover alone won't protect your belongings from rain.) As a guideline, aim for a backpack with a capacity of around 30 liters.
Starting in fiscal year 2025, a toll will be charged for climbing Mt. Fuji. The toll of 4,000 yen must be paid separately on site. *The Mt. Fuji conservation cooperation fee will be abolished in fiscal year 2025 and is therefore not required.
Toilets are available for a fee (100-300 yen). Having a 100 yen coin ready will help ensure a smoother experience.
The schedule may change due to transportation issues such as bus schedule changes, weather, local conditions, road conditions, etc. The order of the itinerary may also be changed or rearranged.
The Fujinomiya Route is renowned for being the shortest climbing path to the summit of Mount Fuji, making it a popular choice. It typically experiences less crowding than other routes and offers convenient access. The route involves an elevation gain of approximately 1,300m to 1,350m and covers a total walking distance of about 8.5km to 10km from the Fujinomiya 5th Station.
A guided ascent of Mount Fuji via the Fujinomiya Route typically follows a 1-night, 2-day itinerary. Although it is the shortest route, climbers should anticipate a challenging experience due to the significant elevation gain. However, the route is considered suitable for first-time climbers with good physical fitness, especially when supported by an experienced guide who can assist with pacing and technique.
While individual summit success rates for beginners can vary significantly based on personal fitness and prevailing weather conditions, participating in a guided tour substantially improves the chances of reaching the top of Mount Fuji. Guided tours on the Fujinomiya Route provide crucial support for first-time climbers, including expert advice on managing the ascent and ensuring overall safety throughout the journey.
The official climbing season for Mount Fuji generally spans from early July to early September. During this period, mountain huts along the Fujinomiya Route are open, and the trails are usually clear of snow. Climbing in July or August is often recommended as these months typically offer the most stable weather conditions and extended daylight hours, contributing to a safer and more enjoyable climbing experience.
A guided 1-night, 2-day Mount Fuji climbing tour on the Fujinomiya Route typically includes round-trip transportation from a major hub like Tokyo Station to the Fujinomiya 5th Station. Participants benefit from the accompaniment of a professional climbing guide and a tour conductor, ensuring support and safety. Post-climb, a relaxing visit to an onsen, such as Fugaku Onsen Hana-no-yu, is often included. Additionally, participants may receive discounts on essential climbing gear rentals from partner shops.
For a guided climbing tour starting from the Mount Fuji Fujinomiya 5th Station, transportation from Tokyo is typically arranged directly by the tour provider. This often involves a dedicated bus service departing from a convenient location, such as Tokyo Station, which transports climbers straight to the starting point of the Fujinomiya Route. This streamlines logistics and ensures a hassle-free journey to the mountain.
Essential equipment for climbing Mount Fuji via the Fujinomiya Route includes sturdy hiking boots, layered waterproof and windproof clothing, a headlamp with spare batteries, gloves, a hat for sun and cold protection, and sufficient water and high-energy snacks. A comfortable backpack, trekking poles, and a helmet are also highly recommended for safety and support. Many climbers find gear rental services to be a convenient option.
During a Mount Fuji Fujinomiya Route guided tour, climbers have the unique opportunity to challenge themselves by ascending Japan's highest peak. A truly unforgettable experience is witnessing the breathtaking sunrise, known as 'goraiko,' from the summit. After the challenging descent, the tour often concludes with a relaxing stop at a local onsen, such as Fugaku Onsen Hana-no-yu, allowing climbers to soothe their muscles and reflect on their incredible accomplishment.
