Product Info

The content of this product is provided by machine translation and may not reflect the actual information, please take this into consideration before booking.

  • This trekking tour covers the entire Shiretoko Five Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a special protected area of Shiretoko National Park, including the elevated boardwalk. This groundbreaking forest adventure, the first of its kind in Japan, features licensed guides guiding you through areas inhabited by brown bears. In addition to the lakes, you can observe seasonally changing natural scenery, including Ezo deer, Ezo red foxes, wild birds, alpine plants, and autumn foliage. Because animals are not fed, all encounters are genuine wild animals. Roads and trails may be closed due to bear sightings, snowfall, storms, or other factors. If we are notified of a closure, we will contact you via mobile device and offer free cancellation, an alternative course (same price), or a different date and time. If a closure occurs after you meet at the site, we will offer an alternative course (same price) based on the remaining time. We may be able to accommodate times not listed, so please inquire.
  • ☆A quiet tour with a guide and a maximum of 10 people.☆
  • Due to the Natural Parks Act, there is a limit of 10 people per tour from May 10th to July 31st, allowing you to experience the tranquil forest and lake. The 3km walk takes 3 hours, so there is plenty of time to take photos and even seniors and children can participate. If overseas participants are also participating, the guide will be in Japanese and English. You may have the opportunity to interact with people from other countries and practice English conversation.
  • ☆The price includes admission fee, lecture fee, consumption tax, binoculars and boots rental.☆
  • There is no complicated fee system where various additional fees are added after registration; the fee includes admission fees, lecture fees, and consumption tax. The guide will also handle the complicated admission procedures for you. If you let us know your size in advance, we can lend you rain boots, binoculars, and other items for free.
  • ☆Guided tour by a licensed guide registered with the Shiretoko Five Lakes☆ 彡0 Plan Features 3 Titles
  • Your tour will be guided by a registered Shiretoko Five Lakes guide who has passed various tests, including first aid and what to do if you encounter a brown bear. The walking trail may be closed in the event of a dangerous storm or other such hazard. If we know in advance that the trail will be closed, we will offer you the option to cancel (free of charge) or an alternative course (same price) if you wish. If the trail is closed after you have started your walk, we will offer you an alternative course (same price) that is available for the remaining time.
