When you think of Okinawa, you might think of pork, especially 'Agu' pork, but chicken is actually very popular too! 'Yanbaru Jidori' is the only local chicken breed in Okinawa, raised right here in Motobu Town. Because they are fed a plant-based diet uniquely formulated with medicinal herbs (garlic, turmeric, chili pepper, and mugwort), the chicken lacks the typical gamey odor and is characterized by its moist, juicy, and tender texture! Please try Yanbaru Jidori at least once.
