- Attraction Introduction -
【Noboribetsu Jigokudani】
Noboribetsu Jigokudani is a volcanic crater remnant, a mysterious valley formed by lava after a volcanic eruption. Known as the Hell Valley, it is not only a must-visit spot in Noboribetsu but also the source of the Noboribetsu hot springs. There are over a dozen types of hot springs here, each with its own unique characteristics; due to this variety, it is often called a department store of hot springs. The air is filled with a strong scent of sulfur, creating a truly hellish landscape. Despite the lack of vegetation, the water flowing from here is a therapeutic hot spring, with a flow rate of up to 3,000 liters per minute, making it the largest source in Noboribetsu. Depending on the location, the water quality varies, with up to 11 different types. People have been tapping into these springs for over a century.
※ Exclusive experience for Plan A guests
You can choose to experience an authentic Japanese hot spring bath at Dai-ichi Takimotokan to fully relax (guests need to purchase tickets on-site; the ticket price includes towel rental, so no need to bring your own); or you can explore every corner of Jigokudani to immerse yourself in the natural wonders. Don't forget to stop by the Oyunumagawa natural footbath for a unique and relaxing moment.
【Odori Park】
Located in the heart of Sapporo, Odori Park is a green corridor stretching about 1.5 km from east to west. It is not only a great place for citizens to rest and stroll, but also the main stage for seasonal events in Sapporo. In spring, you can enjoy cherry blossoms and lilacs; in summer, there are beer gardens and blooming flower beds; in autumn, the maple leaves turn the entire park red; and in winter, the world-famous Sapporo Snow Festival is held, attracting countless visitors. The park is dotted with fountains, sculptures, and observation decks, surrounded by department stores and cafes, making it easy for travelers to switch between sightseeing and shopping. Whether for a short stop or a leisurely walk, Odori Park is the ideal place to experience the charm and seasonal beauty of Sapporo.
【Sapporo Clock Tower】
Built in 1878, the Sapporo Clock Tower is one of the most iconic historical landmarks in Sapporo. The pure white wooden building with its red roof bears witness to the pioneering era of Hokkaido. Today, it is not only a popular photo spot in the city center but also houses an exhibition hall introducing the history and development of Sapporo. Whether day or night, the sound of the clock tower ringing echoes through the city, making it a must-visit spot for travelers to feel the cultural and historical atmosphere of Sapporo.
【Hokkaido Jingu Shrine】
Hokkaido Jingu Shrine is one of the most representative shrines in Sapporo. The main gate faces northeast, a design choice made for historical defense and pioneering purposes. When visiting, why not prepare a 5-yen coin? Since '5 yen' (go-en) sounds like 'fate' (go-en) in Japanese, it symbolizes 'wishes coming true'—a fun and meaningful tradition. Leave your wishes at the shrine and bring good luck home!
【Mitsui Outlet Park Sapporo Kitahiroshima】
A must-visit for tourists in Hokkaido!
The largest outlet mall in the Hokkaido and Tohoku region, 'MITSUI OUTLET PARK Sapporo Kitahiroshima'! This is also the only MITSUI OUTLET PARK in Hokkaido!
From world-renowned brands to drugstores, everything is available here! You can enjoy discounted prices even outside of sale seasons, and purchase local Hokkaido delicacies and unique souvenirs!
【Shiroi Koibito Park】
Shiroi Koibito is a well-known souvenir in Hokkaido. Stepping into Shiroi Koibito Park, the rich scent of chocolate fills the air, and the Shiroi Koibito cookies and milk ice cream bring sweet warmth to the winter! The factory features elegant European-style architecture. Every hour on the hour, the entire factory 'comes alive' like a musical carnival, making you feel as if you are in a dreamy fairy-tale world in Hokkaido!
※ Shiroi Koibito Park does not include factory tour admission tickets
【Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival】
Lake Shikotsu is located in the western part of Chitose City in southwestern Hokkaido and is part of the Shikotsu-Toya National Park. With an average depth of 265m, its maximum depth is equal to the height of Tokyo Tower. As the largest lake in Hokkaido, it was originally a volcanic crater 30,000 years ago that filled with water over time. It is the second deepest lake in Japan and the northernmost ice-free lake in the country. In summer, it is a habitat for migratory birds, attracting many birdwatchers. The sight of red leaves in October is magnificent, and the sunset at Lake Shikotsu is also very beautiful. If you love photography, you definitely cannot miss it.
The annual Ice Festival is a representative winter event in Hokkaido that you cannot miss. It is created by spraying water from Lake Shikotsu and freezing it, resulting in ice sculptures of various sizes arranged at the site.
During the day, it shines with a natural blue color known as 'Shikotsu Blue,' while at night, it is illuminated by colorful lights, creating a dreamlike world.
※Please note that the admission fee for the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival (1000 JPY per person for junior high school students and above, free for elementary school students and below) is at your own expense.
