■Profile: Hiroyuki Sakai (Lunch)
Born in Kagoshima Prefecture in 1942, Sakai began training in French cuisine at the age of 17, and travelled to Australia alone at the age of 19 to train for a year and a half before returning to Japan. After training at a famous restaurant in Tokyo, he went independent in 1980 at the age of 38 and opened a French restaurant called "La Rochelle". He appeared on the TV program "Iron Chef" in 1994 as a French Iron Chef, and became the strongest Iron Chef in "The Complete Iron Chef". Since then, he has been active in a wide range of fields as a leading figure in French cuisine in Japan, and in 2005 he was awarded the Chevalier Medal of Agricultural Merit by the Republic of France. His dishes are characterized by their delicate presentation and beautiful use of color, incorporating kaiseki cuisine techniques into French cuisine. During his time as a chef at John Kanaya Western Restaurant, he established a style of "French kaiseki" that made use of those techniques. While attending Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, he won many awards in competitions, and after graduation he was selected as a pianist for the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Central Band. He has performed at national events, for state guests, and foreign guests, as well as at venues all over the country, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre, Nippon Budokan, and Saitama Super Arena. He posts a wide range of songs on YouTube, from slow to super-fast techniques, and currently has 240,000 subscribers and has been viewed over 100 million times in total. He has released four CDs and a collection of sheet music for virtuoso technique and healing. He is currently on a highly acclaimed national solo tour.

Born in Kagoshima City in 1990, he graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of the Arts, Faculty of Music, majoring in trombone, at the top of his class. He currently performs as a trombonist in a professional orchestra, while also posting videos about street pianos on YouTube as a piano YouTuber. He has gained a reputation for his gorgeous arrangements that make use of his expertise in orchestral sounds while respecting the original songs, and improvises a wide range of songs by ear. His channel currently has over 260,000 subscribers. He has appeared on NHK-FM and Fuji TV's "TEPPEN: The Piano Summit Battle!!," and has held collaborative live shows with many pianists.
