The driver and staff were polite and punctual – highly recommended! 👍🏼 Especially with the one-day pass! You can take the train to Shimoyoshida in the afternoon to see Mt. Fuji, then take the bus back to Fuji-Q Highland before heading back to Ueno. ✅
Since I don't drive, when I went to Kawaguchiko before, I would at most ride bicycles, take cable cars and boat trips around the area, or visit Fuji-Q Highland. This time, the tour included some places further from the station, such as Oshino Hakkai and Saiko Neba. I also took advantage of the cherry blossom season to visit Asama Park. I chose this tour because it lacked the typical Instagrammable photo-op rush of Lawson and Clock Street, instead offering a more tranquil experience at Saiko Neba. The tour guide also mentioned that the Fuji Five Lakes area is worth spending an evening at, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility of the evening and early morning, and explore the surrounding area more deeply. On the day of the tour, there was a car accident on the way there, which added an hour and a half to the journey. However, the tour guide kept a close eye on the road conditions, managing the time perfectly from finding a restroom to visiting each attraction. We visited each attraction in the end, and although we were two hours late returning to Tokyo, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. In the evening, we visited Asama Shrine. It took an hour to get a photo of the five-story pagoda and Mount Fuji. The tour guide led us up a different route to the observation deck. Although there was no pagoda there, it was completely deserted, but we could take photos with the transparent gashapon signs, treating it as a similar spot. During breaks along the way, the guide talked about the history and geography of Mount Fuji and Japan, generously sharing his favorite spots. Any travel advice could be discussed with the guide on the spot. The weather that day was excellent; it cleared up after a period of continuous rain, and Mount Fuji was clearly visible. After three visits, I finally saw the entire mountain. Although Lake Kawaguchi is at a higher altitude and the temperature is colder, the cherry blossoms bloom a little later than in Tokyo, but being able to see the whole mountain was already a great blessing. The photos below show various viewpoints of Mount Fuji. Seeing it in person was truly breathtaking. I hope everyone who signs up for this tour can see Mount Fuji on a clear day.
