Although our English-speaking guide, Coconut, was incredibly attentive, providing us with bottled water and taking photos for us at every attraction. He also led us through the Maeklong Railway/market, explaining its history, and at the floating market, he guided us through each attraction, making it a truly enriching experience. In the floating market, there's a place called "Lao Ta Lak," actually Thailand's oldest floating market. Although it wasn't frequented by many tourists, it offered delicious traditional Thai milk tea, with adjustable sweetness. The shop was called "Antique Coffee." Further on, there was a noodle shop; the clear broth noodles were refreshing, and the condiments on the table could be adjusted to your liking. Further still, you'd see hand-painted porcelain elephants, exquisitely detailed and adorable, perfect as souvenirs. Although I was in a group with other travelers, I was happy to meet them, exchanging travel information and sharing food, experiencing the warmth of Taiwanese people even in a foreign land. P.S.: I wonder if eating coconut ice on the boat had a special flavor; if I go again, I'd definitely try it again.
