Spice Up Your Solo Trip with a Helicopter Ride!

Everyone who has been to New York loves it there and trust us, you’ll be no exception too! But have you ever wondered what’s something you MUST do as a solo-traveller in New York in this concrete jungle? That is it! Hop on the helicopter for a bird’s eye view of the Big Apple and cruise the skyline.

To get to the departure point at Downtown Manhattan Heliport, take a 5-minute walk along the river after taking a subway to South Ferry Loop. Hop on a helicopter for a breathtaking ariel eye view of the famous Hudson River, Statue of Liberty and the Central Park. The sensational ride will last 12 to 15 minutes.

Once you’re there, you’ll have to make a payment of US$41 (~SGD 57) which includes insurance and a locker. Bags are not allowed for this activity so be sure to leave your belongings in the locker. Psssst, if you would like to get a window seat on the helicopter, make sure you are either first or last in line.

Once you’re inside the helicopter, the staff will help you with the seat belt and you will be able to communicate with the pilot. However, the propeller of the helicopter is deafening so keep your earmuffs on and be prepared for the loud noises throughout the flight.

The helicopter ride may last for just 15 minutes but it is worth the price because you’ll remember this experience to see New York from high above for a lifetime opportunity! unless you have acrophobia, you should totally go for it!
