Have you been itching to travel ever since the lockdowns started? We totally feel you!
However, with the new coronavirus (COVID-19) still wreaking havoc across the globe, every travel bug’s greatest concern right now is if there are safe countries to travel to at all. Well, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), there are. In fact, 30 countries received the forum’s “Safe Travels” stamp.
The stamp is given to countries that have reopened their borders or are ready to reopen and have adopted the global standardized health and hygiene protocols based on the guidelines by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
To be eligible in receiving the stamp, the country’s travel sectors including airlines, cruise lines, airports, tour operators, attractions, and hotels—among many others—have to prove that they are practicing rigorous safety measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 upon application.
Here is the list of destinations using the Safe travels stamp from the WTTC:
Certain areas of Australia
Certain areas of Spain
Certain areas of Russia
United Arab Emirates
Certain areas of South Africa
Trinidad and Tobago
Certain areas of Brazil
Certain areas of Canada
Certain areas of Mexico
Certain areas of Ecuador
