商品说明

Your calligraphy experience at our workshop begins by choosing the tools you will use. From hundreds of brushes, inkstones, paperweights, water droppers, and brush rests, you can select the tools you like and feel connected to Japanese calligraphy culture even before you begin writing.

After choosing your tools, English-speaking staff will introduce the basic tools used in calligraphy, such as the brush, ink, and hanshi paper, as well as how to hold the brush and move it. You will practice simple lines on hanshi paper and gradually become familiar with the rhythm and feeling of Japanese calligraphy.

After learning the basics, you will choose the characters for your artwork. You can select meaningful Japanese kanji such as “Love,” “Dream,” “Harmony,” or “Heart,” or write your name in Japanese characters.

Next, you will practice your chosen kanji on hanshi paper. Our staff will support you step by step, so even first-time visitors and international guests can enjoy the experience with confidence. Through practice, you can discover your own style of brush expression.

Once you are ready, you will create your final artwork on an uchiwa fan and a shikishi board. You can also decorate your artwork freely with colored ink and stamps, creating an original piece that combines traditional calligraphy with your own personal style.

In addition to the standard uchiwa fan and shikishi board, optional final artwork items are also available. You can choose items such as a folding fan, hanging scroll, Japanese kite, Japanese umbrella, ema wooden wishing plaque, hagoita battledore, or daruma doll, and write your final calligraphy on them to create an even more special piece. The high level of freedom in creating your artwork is one of the great appeals of this experience.

After your artwork is complete, you can take a commemorative photo with your finished pieces. The photo can be taken in a space surrounded by Japanese-style items, allowing you to capture your memories in an atmosphere that feels truly Japanese. Your finished artwork can be placed in the original tote bag included as a special gift and taken home on the same day.

The venue is a Japanese-inspired space decorated with Japanese-style items, including calligraphy works by the world-famous artist Shiko Munakata. You can enjoy not only the act of writing, but also the beauty of Japanese calligraphy throughout the entire space.

Our company also operates a popular chopstick-making workshop on the 1st floor of the same building. Together with the calligraphy experience, we offer a wide range of Japanese cultural experiences in Ginza as a place where visitors can enjoy Japanese craftsmanship and culture.

This experience is designed to be enjoyable for beginners and international visitors alike. Create your own handwritten artwork as a memorable souvenir from your trip to Japan.
