begin your day with a pickup from your hotel in Chengdu. Arrive at the Dujiangyan Panda Base and meet your guide. Receive a safety briefing and an introduction to panda conservation. Step 1 visit 30 Pandas Unlike some other bases, Dujiangyan specializes in the rescue, disease control, and care of giant pandas. It's a "Panda Hospital" and training center. Natural Environment: The base is built into a lush, forested hill, making the panda enclosures feel more natural and spacious. It's a beautiful place for a walk. Less Crowded: It's generally much less crowded than the famous Chengdu Research Base, allowing for a more relaxed and personal viewing experience.
Step 2: Drive to the Red Panda Center for the red panda keeper program. After receiving instructions to move slowly and speak quietly, enter the enclosure, prepare food, and feed the red pandas pieces of apple or other treats. This is a fantastic photo opportunity.
Physical contact with the red pandas is not allowed. Please respect the animals' welfare. The keeper program costs an additional 900 CNY per person, payable directly to the center.
