The Rosas Mine in Narcao is one of the best-preserved industrial archaeology sites in Sardinia. Once the beating heart of the Iglesiente mining economy, today it tells its story through a route that combines the underground tunnels, the museum and the washery with the original machinery still in place.
The guided visit (in Italian, with audio guides available in English, French, and German) takes you through the tunnels carved into the rock, where you can still feel the atmosphere of mining work. The route continues in the museum, which traces the social, economic, and industrial history of the site, and ends in the wash house, where the machinery used to process the ore is preserved and displayed exactly as it was at the time of the mining activity.
An experience designed for those who love history, the mining industry, and landscapes that tell the story of the work and the transformation of the land.
