Soragna: Farm Tour with Milking and Tasting｜Italy

Enjoy an immersive experience on a small, authentic dairy farm deeply rooted in the tradition of Parmigiano cheese production. The visit takes place on the farm and brings you into the heart of farm life, including animal welfare, family stories, and genuine interaction with the animals.

You will be welcomed by the owner, who is also the farm’s veterinarian. During the guided tour, you will learn about how cattle farming works, with a focus on the cows’ feeding, care, and welfare, as well as interesting facts and anecdotes related to the time-honored profession of farming. It’s a direct and tangible way to understand the expertise and care that go into a product that is a symbol of the region.

The highlight of the tour is the opportunity to experience milking firsthand, in complete safety and with genuine contact with the animals during a crucial part of their day in the barn. This is an engaging activity, suitable even for those who have never experienced the countryside up close.

Afterwards, you will move to a charming, recently renovated old barn from the early 1900s, where a tasting awaits: you will sample Parmigiano Reggiano at various stages of maturation, accompanied by farm-produced chutneys and jams and a glass of wine (or water). After the experience, you can stay a little longer in the garden or in the tasting room to relax.
