The immeasurable beauty of the Wanda Mines is close to Puerto Iguazú (Argentina) and about 45 kilometers from the border with Foz do Iguaçu.
The deposits were created by the flow of volcanic lava thousands of years ago. The boiling lava created air bubbles in the rocks, which crystallized to produce the different stones and colors.
There are five mines that visitors can access during the tour. There you can find emeralds, rubies, amethysts, agates, topazes (yellow, blue, brown), pink rock crystals, Venus crystal, aquamarine, among other varieties. The set has no fewer than 52 varieties.
Visitors can also follow open-pit and cave mining up close. In some cases, the work takes more than a year, as artisanal handling requires great care due to the fragility of the treasures.
A collection of local specimens is exhibited at the Stone Museum. The park has specialist shops where you can buy raw or processed samples.
