Begin your journey with a scenic one-hour drive from Kampot up the winding road to Bokor Mountain. As you climb higher into the Elephant Mountains, enjoy panoramic views of jungle-covered hills and the coastline below.
Your first major stop is the historic Bokor Hill Station, built by the French in the 1920s as a mountain retreat from the tropical heat. Explore the atmospheric ruins of the old colonial settlement, including the famous Bokor Catholic Church, which stands dramatically on the windy plateau and offers stunning views across the surrounding mountains.
Next, visit Wat Sampov Pram, a striking Buddhist temple perched on a cliff edge. From here, enjoy one of the best viewpoints in southern Cambodia, looking out across Bokor National Park and the distant sea.
Continue to Popokvil Waterfall, a beautiful two-tier waterfall hidden in the forest. Depending on the season, the falls range from a gentle cascade to a powerful rush of water through the jungle.
After exploring Bokor Mountain, return to Kampot in the afternoon. Add a relaxing sunset cruise on the Kampot River, where you can enjoy peaceful scenery, traditional fishing boats, and the possibility of seeing fireflies as the sun sets behind Bokor Mountain.
