Discover the Monastery of Saint Dimitrie Basarabovo, a Bulgarian Orthodox cave monastery near the city of Ruse. Admire its location, 35 meters above the Rusenski Lom River, and learn about its history, dating back to the 15th century.

Next, head to the Ivanovo Rock-Hewn Churches, a complex of monolithic rock-hewn churches, chapels, and monasteries. Marvel at the well-preserved medieval frescoes and learn about the monks who inhabited the caves from the 1220s.

Continue to the stronghold of Cherven, one of the Second Bulgarian Empire's primary military, administrative, economic, and cultural centers between the 12th and 14th centuries. Explore the ruins of the fortress, located near the village of the same name.

Finish with a tour of Ruse, to discover why irt is called "Little Viena", but also to discover a part of the Roman Empire inheritance.
