Uncover one of Chumphon’s most breathtaking natural landmarks at Tianmen Mountain, also known as Heaven’s Gate. Located in Sawi District within the grounds of Tham Than Nam Lod Monastery, this dramatic mountain gorge offers sweeping panoramic views, cool mountain air, and stunning scenery all year round.

Begin your journey ascending approximately 700 steps thoughtfully designed in harmony with nature. As you climb, enjoy spectacular 360-degree views over valleys, mountains, and on clear mornings, a magical sea of mist stretching across Sawi District. At about 500 meters above sea level, you’ll reach the summit — a rewarding viewpoint where every step is worth the effort.

At the top stands a majestic golden Big Buddha statue in a posture symbolizing prosperity and good fortune. Visitors often come to pay respect, pray for blessings, and seek positive energy for the year ahead.

Visit Tham Than Nam Lod Cave (or Tham Than Nam Lod Monastery). This is an "Unseen" landmark that perfectly blends pilgrimage and natural adventure, featuring chambers with stalactites and stalagmites to explore.


Continue your adventure to the incredible Underworld Gorge, often compared to a hidden Grand Canyon of Thailand. This dramatic black rock canyon stretches over one kilometer, with water flowing gently through its narrow passage. The shallow stream, approximately 50 centimeters deep, winds through towering rock walls, creating a mysterious and awe-inspiring landscape.
