Explore the Weeki Wachee River and estuary on a guided clear kayak ecotour near Tampa Bay. Paddle in a 100% see through kayak and enjoy a close look at the spring-fed water below you, from shifting river grasses to fish and passing wildlife. This tour combines the beauty of one of Florida’s iconic springs with the chance to spot manatees and other local animals in their natural habitat.

Begin in the estuary, where much of the area's wildlife is often seen. As you paddle with your guide, keep watch for fish, turtles, ospreys, nesting bald eagles, dolphins, and the occasional otter or alligator. Manatees live in the Weeki Wachee River year round, and sightings are frequent. The route offers a mix of natural scenery and local river life, giving the experience a feel that is both wild and lived in.

Along the way, take in views of the clear water and learn more about the river’s ecosystem from your guide. The tour is located just minutes from Weeki Wachee Springs State Park, known for its famous mermaids, making it a good choice for travelers looking for a different way to experience the area. The activity finishes back at the starting point after about 2 hours on the water.

  • Know Before You Go: We only cancel a tour if there is unsafe weather conditions. Typically if winds are greater than 15 mph we will cancel the tour for safety reasons and you will be refunded in full or rescheduled at no additional costs.

  • Know Before You Go: It is not required for you to know how to swim, but we do ask that you are comfortable on the water.

  • Know Before You Go: Our weight limit is no more than 250 pounds per person and no more than 425 pounds per 2 people that are in the same kayak.

  • Know Before You Go: While we can’t guarantee you will see wildlife, our guides are trained and knowledgeable about the best potential areas they may be spotted.

  • Know Before You Go: All clear kayaks are tandem (made for 2 paddlers) for odd-numbered parties but we welcome single paddlers!

  • Know Before You Go: This is a no exit kayak tour.
