From Edmonton: Moraine Lake, Lake Louise, and Banff Day Trip｜Canada

This small-group tour brings together the places every visitor to Alberta wants to see — Lake Minnewanka, Moraine Lake, Lake Louise and the town of Banff — without the rush of a coach tour or the stress of driving Moraine Lake Road yourself. Lunch is a barbecue on the lakeshore, cooked by your guide.

LAKE MINNEWANKA — 1 hour, with BBQ
Our first stop, and the one guests remember. The longest lake in Banff National Park, ringed by mountains, and one of the best places in the park to spot wildlife. We fire up the barbecue on the shore and serve hot dogs by the water while you take in the view. If you'd like to get out on the lake, an optional boat cruise runs from here.

MORAINE LAKE — 1.5 to 2 hours
The crown jewel. Framed by the Valley of the Ten Peaks, this glacier-fed lake is one of the most photographed views in Canada. You'll have time to walk the Rockpile trail for the classic viewpoint, sit by the water, or add an optional canoe rental.

LAKE LOUISE — 1 hour
Emerald water beneath Victoria Glacier, with the historic Fairmont Chateau at the far end. Easy lakeside walking paths suit every fitness level.

BANFF TOWNSITE — 1 hour
Free time on Banff Avenue before the drive home. Shops, galleries, mountain views in every direction, and plenty of places to sit down and eat.

This is a full day out. Guests travelling from Edmonton start early and return late — bring a book for the highway sections and settle in. The mountain stops are worth it.
