Come with us for our Express Aurora Hunt and have a guaranteed early return to Tromsø city centre. This is an ideal option for those with an early flight, an early cruise ship departure, or for those who simply want a shorter northern light tour.

Leave the city lights behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness. During this activity, our small team of Aurora guides will check the forecasts and use local knowledge and experience to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights within an hour's drive away from town.

On this activity, we’ll travel to the areas within 1 hour of Tromsø city centre that offer the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights. Once we arrive at the best location, we will wait for the show to begin. In the meantime, our guides will tell you stories about the North and the science behind the Aurora. We'll have you back to the city centre 4 hours from the start time, so you can be well-rested the next morning.

  • Know Before You Go: Guests must ensure they're dressed appropriately, including a proper woollen base layer, woollen socks, a down jacket and warm winter pants and jackets. Guests need to wear proper winter shoes as they may be outside in the snow for up to 2.5 hours.

  • Know Before You Go: Guests should have eaten dinner before the tour start time, as only a snack and warm drinks are included.

  • Know Before You Go: This is an express tour, the tour is limited to a 1.5 radius around Tromsø only. We cannot drive farther as the tour is guaranteed to last a maximum of 4 hours.
