Get picked up from your hotel or a convenient location in Tromsø and set off on a private Northern Lights hunt. Travel in a warm, comfortable minivan with room to stretch out, not a cramped shared bus.

Up to seven people, up to six hours, moving wherever the sky looks most promising, including Finland if that's where the lights are. Your guide is a professional photographer whose work has been featured in Glamour magazine, and who has spent serious time watching Arctic forecasts and learning where to go when the obvious spots aren't cooperating.

Whether it's two of you or seven, the price is the same. The vehicle doesn't fill up with strangers. The night doesn't get diluted.

A big part of what makes a night like this memorable is the company. Expect good conversation, good music, and someone who is genuinely happy to talk about anything — the aurora, photography, Tromsø, whatever's on your mind. The hot drinks are good. The snacks are good. The waiting, which is sometimes part of it, doesn't feel like waiting.

If you want to learn something about photography while you're out there, ask. There's a working photographer in the vehicle and they're happy to show you a thing or two on your own phone or camera.

Aurora portraits from the night are available to purchase afterward. One complimentary group photo is always included.

We skip the campfire — a deliberate choice. The Arctic ecosystem is the reason people come here, and we'd like it to stay intact. The minivan is warm and you can return to it whenever the cold gets serious.

You are booking the night, not the sky. The aurora cannot be guaranteed, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing. What we can promise is that every available forecast gets checked, every good spot gets considered, and we chase the lights as long as conditions and the timeframe allow.

  • Know Before You Go: Dress for Arctic temperatures. The minivan is warm and you can return to it at any time, but you will be outside for parts of the night. Thermal layers, a warm outer layer, and waterproof boots are strongly recommended. Temperatures can reach minus 15°C and below.

  • Know Before You Go: Thermal suits and boots are not provided. Please come dressed for the cold.

  • Know Before You Go: The aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. Your guide monitors all available forecasts and will chase the lights as long as conditions and the timeframe allow.
