Based in Lyngen near Tromsø, visit Camp Troll and experience a day of exploration, excitement, and fun on a snowmobile safari.

Drive beneath the spectacular Lyngen Alps and discover how these dramatic mountains inspired Norwegian folklore.

Depart from Tromsø city centre by dedicated Camp Troll bus, which takes you across the ferry and directly to Camp Troll. On arrival, meet your guide and receive a safety briefing and instructions on how to operate the snowmobile.

Ride in pairs, with one driver and one passenger, and swap drivers during the safari. Explore scenic trails through the Arctic landscape beneath the Lyngen Alps before returning to Camp Troll for a warming homemade soup by the fire.

Please note: Snowmobiles are shared, including for bookings of one person. One spot equals one person. Due to the limited number of snowmobiles, we are unable to add additional spaces once the tour is fully booked.

Departure time: 8:30 AM
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before departure.

Meeting point: Inside Prostneset Bus Terminal, ground floor, Samuel Arnesens Gate 5, 9008 Tromsø, Norway.

Your dedicated Camp Troll bus is reserved exclusively for Camp Troll guests and takes you from Tromsø, across the ferry, and directly to Camp Troll. There is no need to change transport at Svensby. The bus remains at Camp Troll while you enjoy your adventure and takes you directly back to Tromsø afterwards.

If you miss the bus, you will need to arrange alternative transportation at your own expense.

Estimated arrival back in Tromsø: approximately 4:30 PM.

  • Know Before You Go: Snowmobiles are shared between two guests, with one driver and one passenger. Single bookings will also share a snowmobile

  • Know Before You Go: No previous snowmobile experience is required. A full safety briefing and driving instructions are provided before the safari

  • Know Before You Go: A basic level of fitness and confidence in outdoor activities is recommended

  • Know Before You Go: The safari takes place outdoors in Arctic winter conditions. Weather and visibility can vary, so please dress warmly

  • Know Before You Go: Thermal suits, boots, mittens and helmets are provided

  • Know Before You Go: The snowmobile safari itself lasts approximately 2.5 hours. The total experience includes transportation from Tromsø, the ferry crossing, safety briefing, snowmobile safari and meal
