The Earth is an infinite laboratory of Life: since the dawn of time, it has been moving, experimenting, adapting, and transforming.

During a geowalk, the Earth is a mirror; its authentic history hidden in the landscape becomes our live guide.

Looking for original things to do in Drôme?

From 10 am to 2 pm, this geo-walk along the Gervanne allows you to combine business with pleasure: discover the geology of the Omblèze gorges and swim in fresh, clear water, without any danger.

The Gervanne has carved its way through the limestone rocks of the Vercors, digging out a deep canyon over time, where cliffs, potholes, and waterfalls tell the story of the patient work of water on stone. The route leads to the Druise waterfall, one of the most remarkable sites in Vercors, before enjoying a swimming break in a calm and safe area of the river.

The Earth becomes a language for understanding the laws of Nature.

Audience: open to all those who wish to combine geological discovery with a refreshing moment in the river. Duration: 4 hours, from 10 AM to 2 PM.

  • Know Before You Go: Bring swimwear and a towel to enjoy swimming in the river.

  • Know Before You Go: The trail includes sections through undergrowth and near water: closed shoes with good grip are recommended; flip-flops and sandals are not recommended.

  • Know Before You Go: Access to the waterfalls is in a classified site that is ecologically sensitive: please remain on the marked paths and follow the instructions given on site.
