Guided by your expert host, you will learn how hickory clubs were originally made, repaired and restored over 100 years ago. Throughout the session, you will work hands-on at the bench using period-style tools and authentic restoration methods to help bring a vintage club back to life. You will also personalise your own genuine hickory club to take home, creating a one-of-a-kind piece of golf history connected to your experience in the workshop.

What You Will Do
Guided introduction to the history of hickory golf and the evolution of early clubmaking.
Explore original clubs, materials, tools and restoration equipment inside the workshop.
Learn the anatomy and construction of hickory golf clubs and how they were traditionally assembled.
Take part in genuine restoration processes used in the workshop today.
Learn how traditional hosel pins are removed and reinstalled during restoration work.
Discover how hickory shafts were shaped and prepared using period tools and techniques, with the opportunity to try elements of the process yourself.
Learn traditional finishing methods including whipping, grip fitting and final preparation.
Select and personalise your own restored hickory club using your choice of leather grip, whipping thread and optional tartan or tweed detailing.
Add an optional engraved name, date or short message to the shaft of your club.
