Oxford: Christ Church Harry Potter Insight & University Tour｜United Kingdom

This tour has been booked by thousands of Muggles visiting Oxford. We created the original Oxford Harry Potter Insights tour, which has been much copied thanks to its successful structure. It entertains enthusiastic Harry Potter fans, introduces Oxford student life and the university, and compares Oxford traditions with Hogwarts.

We go into lots of details about the inspirations of JK Rowling and the making of the films and we carry gowns for memorable photos plus you will get to test your knowledge of all things Hogwarts against the guide. We are passionate about Oxford and we share stories and facts about Oxford's other famous writers too such as Tolkien, Lewis, Pullman and Lewis Carroll.

This tour includes a two-hour guided tour plus an additional one-hour self-guided visit to Christ Church. We guarantee you entry tickets for Christ church which is quite a trouble to otherwise purchase entry tickets to. Please book ahead as entry tickets to Christ church are very limited in summer and on weekends year round.

Enjoy a walking tour introducing the making of Harry Potter in Oxford and an audio-guided tour inside Christ Church College.

See and hear about both Harry Potter and Lewis Carroll’s legendary characters, such as Alice and the Mad Hatter.

Plus see inside the Divinity school at the Bodleian Library, one of the oldest libraries in Europe. This tour does NOT visit inside Duke Humfrey’s medieval library at the Bodleian Library, as it's not open to children or to private guided tours either.

See Christ Church's cloisters and staircase that were used as inspiration for the Great Hall, or visit New College.

Please see Exclusions section for any partial closures. Any dates that Christ church is closed, are removed from sale or we will forewarn you when you book and offer you chance to reschedule or a full refund.

Enjoy high-energy, charismatic guides and great pacing. Many guides are students or alumni and offer a lively student perspective, describing firsthand experiences of ‘life behind closed doors.’

Our reviews emphasise our tours cater to all ages. We introduce historical anecdotes and eccentric university traditions with light-hearted storytelling to keep all ages engaged.
