Ourika Valley & Atlas Mountains Day Trip from Marrakech

Leave Marrakech behind for a day among the High Atlas Mountains, where the Ourika River winds past terraced hillsides, Amazigh (Berber) villages, walnut trees, and the mountain community of Setti Fatma.

Your journey begins with pickup in Marrakech and a drive toward the foothills of the Atlas. Watch the landscape change from the ochre surroundings of the city to cultivated valleys and mountain settlements, with stops along the route for photos and local encounters.

Visit a women’s argan oil cooperative and see how argan products are traditionally prepared. Learn about the techniques used by the cooperative and the role this craft plays in the local community.

Continue deeper into the Ourika Valley to Setti Fatma, where you’ll meet a local guide for the walking portion of the experience. Follow mountain paths beside the river and make your way toward the Setti Fatma waterfalls. The route includes rocky and uneven sections, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Along the way, take in views across the valley, observe village life, and enjoy the cooler atmosphere of the Atlas foothills. Waterfall flow varies naturally according to rainfall and season.

After the walk, unwind beside the Ourika River. Depending on the option booked, choose how you would like to enjoy your time:

Enjoy free time by the river and purchase food or drinks locally if you wish.

Option 2 – Lunch Included:
Sit down for a Moroccan meal served by the river, including a starter, main course, and dessert. Vegetarian and vegan choices can be requested.

After time to relax, meet your driver for the return journey to Marrakech.
