Join us on an unforgettable day trip to Abune Yemata Guh Church from Mekelle, combining adventure, culture, and stunning landscapes. Your journey begins with a pick-up from Mekelle Airport or your hotel, followed by a scenic 3-hour drive to the Gheralta Mountains through the breathtaking landscapes of Tigray.

Upon arrival, enjoy a guided hike of about one hour դեպի the base of the church. The final ascent includes a short but challenging 3-meter climb along a narrow rock ledge. Local guides will assist you, and safety ropes are available if needed.

At the top, discover the remarkable Abune Yemata Guh Church, famous for its ancient frescoes and unique rock-hewn architecture. Spend time exploring the church, admiring the historic paintings, taking photos, and enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

After approximately one hour at the site, descend and begin your return drive to Mekelle. You will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred to the airport for your flight back to Addis Ababa.
