Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa

Arrive in Addis Ababa and transfer to your hotel. Begin your adventure with a city tour, including visits to the National Museum (home to Lucy), the Holy Trinity Cathedral, and the Mount Entoto viewpoint. Experience a traditional coffee ceremony and enjoy a cultural dinner with music and dance.

Overnight: Addis Ababa

Day 2: Debre Libanos Excursion

Drive through the Ethiopian Highlands to Debre Libanos. Visit the Debre Libanos Monastery, explore the Portuguese Bridge, and enjoy views of the Jemma River Gorge. Keep an eye out for Gelada baboons. Return to Addis Ababa for the night.

Overnight: Addis Ababa

Day 3: Fly to Lalibela

Take a morning flight to Lalibela. Visit the northwestern rock-hewn churches, explore tunnels, courtyards, and passages, and learn about King Lalibela’s history.

Overnight: Lalibela

Day 4: Lalibela Exploration

Visit the southeastern church complex and explore Bete Giyorgis. Take an optional village walk and enjoy a sunset over the highlands.

Day 5: Addis Ababa & Lake Langano

Fly to Addis Ababa and drive through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Langano. Make scenic stops en route, relax by the lake, and enjoy optional swimming and birdwatching.

Day 6: Bale Mountains National Park

Drive to Bale Mountains National Park. Explore the Harenna Forest, observe endemic wildlife, and enjoy the Afro-alpine scenery.

Overnight: Bale Mountains

Day 7: Bale Mountains Wildlife Safari

Spend a full day exploring the Sanetti Plateau. Search for Ethiopian wolves, spot mountain nyala and endemic birds, and take guided nature walks.

Day 8: Hawassa

Drive to Hawassa. Visit the Lake Hawassa fish market, walk along the lakeshore, and enjoy birdwatching and photography.

Day 9: Addis Ababa & Departure

Drive back to Addis Ababa. Enjoy optional shopping and sightseeing, have a farewell meal (optional), and transfer to the airport for your departure.
