Itinerary
7:30 AM - 8:00 AM: Departure from Quito City in a shared vehicle. (Pick-up from more than 50 hotels in the tourist area of Quito).
10:00 AM: Arrival at the first station, "Control Caspi", located at 3,200 meters above sea level (10,498 feet).
10:30 AM: Continue by vehicle to the "Mariscal Sucre" Interpretation Center, located at 3,800 meters above sea level (12,467 feet). Visit to the center for 30 minutes to learn about the flora, fauna, and history of Cotopaxi Volcano.
11:00 AM: Visit and tour of the Limpiopungo Lagoon. Located northwest of Cotopaxi Volcano, at 3,800 meters above sea level (12,467 feet).
11:45 AM: Drive to the parking lot located at 4,500 meters above sea level (14,763 feet).
12:00 PM: Start of the hike to the José Rivas Shelter, the only shelter on Cotopaxi, located at 4,800 meters above sea level (15,748 feet). The ascent takes about 1 hour.
1:00 PM: Arrival at the Jose Ribas shelter.
1:30 PM: In favorable weather conditions, the trek can be continued to the glaciers of the volcano.
2:00 PM: Descent from the volcano to the parking lot, with an approximate duration of 1 hour.
3:00 PM: Lunch.
3:30 PM: From this time, our private transportation will be ready to start the journey to the city of Baños de Agua Santa.
6:30 PM: Arrival at your hotel in the city of Baños.
