Meet your guide at Plaza de la Democracia and the Bellavista Fortress, where Costa Rica's army was formally abolished in 1948. Get an introduction to Costa Rican history and learn about the country without an army.

Walk past the Legislative Assembly, the seat of Costa Rica's government, and see Parque Nacional. Visit the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MADC), housed in the former National Liquor Factory (FANAL).
