Experience exciting whitewater rafting on the Naranjo River throughout the entire year. This tour operates year-round; only the rafting section changes according to the season, water levels, and safety conditions.

From approximately May to December, you will raft the classic Naranjo section, featuring fun and challenging Class III and IV rapids. From approximately December to May, the adventure moves to El Chorro, a steeper and more technical section featuring Class III, IV, and V rapids through a dramatic narrow canyon. The exact transition dates may vary depending on river conditions.

Your adventure begins with pickup from selected hotels and meeting points in Jacó. Enjoy the scenic drive to our operations center, where you will meet your professional bilingual guides, receive your rafting equipment, and participate in a complete safety briefing.

Then head to the river and paddle through exciting rapids surrounded by Costa Rica’s tropical scenery. After rafting, enjoy a refreshing snack and water before returning to Jacó. Your guides will always select the section offering the safest and best experience for the current conditions.

  • Know Before You Go: This tour operates year-round. The Naranjo or El Chorro section is selected according to the season, water levels, and safety conditions. The classic Naranjo section features Class III–IV rapids, while El Chorro is a steeper and more technical Class III–V canyon section.

  • Know Before You Go: Participants must be in good physical condition, able to paddle, and follow all instructions provided by the guides. This activity is not suitable for pregnant travelers or guests with serious heart, back, or neck conditions or recent surgery. Closed-toe shoes are required.

  • Know Before You Go: The rafting route may change according to current river and weather conditions. Pickup is available only from selected hotels and meeting points in Jacó. Please check your KKday voucher for the exact pickup time. Bring swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, and a complete change of clothes. Please inform the activity provider in advance of any dietary restrictions.
