La Fortuna: Night Rainforest Walk with Fireflies & Bonfire｜Costa Rica

As daylight disappears, watch the rainforest transform around you. Begin the experience surrounded by the glow of fireflies before heading onto a beautiful rainforest trail bordered by two naturally flowing rivers.

With your guide, search the vegetation for colorful frogs, fascinating insects, sleeping wildlife, and other nocturnal creatures that are often impossible to spot during the day. Listen to rushing water and the sounds of the jungle as you explore beneath the rainforest canopy.

One of the highlights is the atmosphere itself — the sound of the rivers on both sides, darkness all around you, and fireflies glowing through the forest. Depending on the evening, you may see fireflies both before and after the walk, making the experience feel almost magical.

Every night in the rainforest is different, so no two walks are exactly the same.

At the end of the adventure, gather around a cozy bonfire and roast marshmallows under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of the Costa Rican jungle.

This experience takes place in El Castillo, a peaceful rainforest area near La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano, approximately 25–35 minutes from downtown La Fortuna.
