Sarande: Tour to Permet Thermal Baths and Langarica Canyon｜Albania

Escape from Saranda for a day and discover one of southern Albania's most spectacular natural destinations. This full-day tour takes you from Saranda through breathtaking mountain landscapes to the famous Benja Thermal Baths and the stunning Langarica Canyon, where nature, history, and relaxation come together.

Your adventure begins with a comfortable 08:00 departure from Saranda. As we travel inland, we'll make our first stop at Uji i Ftohtë (Cold Water Springs) near Tepelenë, a refreshing spot beside the Vjosa River, perfect for a short break and beautiful photos.

Continuing through the Vjosa Valley, we'll stop at the impressive Këlcyrë Gorge, where towering mountains and dramatic scenery create one of Albania's most picturesque landscapes.

Our main destination is the Benja Thermal Baths, one of Albania's hidden gems. Here, naturally heated mineral-rich waters flow into beautiful outdoor pools beneath the historic Ottoman Kadi Bridge. Rich in sulfur and other natural minerals, these thermal waters have long been believed to help soothe muscles, joints, skin conditions, and improve overall well-being. With water temperatures ranging between 22°C and 28°C throughout the year, the baths offer the perfect place to relax in a truly unique natural setting.

From the thermal baths, we'll continue on foot into the breathtaking Langarica Canyon. During approximately one hour, you'll walk through shallow crystal-clear waters surrounded by towering limestone cliffs that rise dramatically above the river. Along the way you'll discover natural pools, hidden caves, and even warm springs emerging from the rocks. No technical hiking experience is required—just comfortable water shoes and a spirit of adventure.

After exploring the canyon, you'll return to the thermal baths where you'll enjoy around 1 hour and 15 minutes of free time to soak in the warm healing waters, unwind, and admire the peaceful surroundings.

A relaxing picnic lunch break follows beside the thermal baths. Guests are welcome to bring their own lunch and enjoy it surrounded by nature. There are also local restaurants nearby if you prefer to purchase food.

The entire area lies within the beautiful surroundings of Fir of Hotova National Park, one of Albania's largest protected areas. Far from mass tourism, you'll experience pristine landscapes, crystal-clear rivers, fresh mountain air, and complete tranquillity—perfect for reconnecting with nature.

Beyond its natural beauty, this region is also rich in history and culture. The centuries-old Ottoman Kadi Bridge is one of Albania's most photographed landmarks, while nearby Përmet, known as the "City of Flowers," is celebrated for its charming atmosphere, hospitality, local traditions, and delicious homemade cuisine.

After a memorable day combining adventure, relaxation, and spectacular scenery, we'll begin our scenic drive back to Saranda, arriving approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes later.
