Embark on a 1-day trip from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park for a Golden Monkey Trek. Enjoy a hassle-free transfer from your hotel in Kigali to the park and back.

Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Kigali and head to the Volcanoes National Park. Arrive at the park and attend a briefing at the park offices at around 7:00 AM.

After the briefing, decide to hire a porter to help with extra luggage before moving to the starting point. Tracking golden monkeys takes a shorter time (about an hour) and is less strenuous than gorilla trekking.

After the trek, head back to the starting point and transfer back to Kigali city. Arrive back at your hotel or the airport in the afternoon.

It is often called “baby trekking” because it involves shorter hikes, less steep terrain, and the monkeys are more active and playful, making it less physically demanding than tracking Mountain Gorilla.
