Meet Your Guide & Start Your Journey
Transnistria Tour from Chișinău – Step Into a Soviet Time Capsule!

Join us on an unforgettable journey to Transnistria, a self-declared republic where time appears to have frozen in the Soviet era. This unique tour takes you from Chișinău into a region that still preserves Soviet symbols, values, and traditions—offering a rare and fascinating travel experience.

Itinerary & Highlights
Morning: Journey to Bender & the Historic Fortress

Depart from Chișinău and travel east toward Tighina (Bender), a city rich in history and strategic importance.

Visit the impressive Bender Fortress, a 15th-century stronghold originally built by Stephen the Great and later reinforced under Ottoman rule in the 16th century.

Walk along the fortress walls, explore its well-preserved towers, and learn about its turbulent past under Moldovan, Ottoman, and Soviet control.

Midday: Cultural Exploration in Tiraspol

Continue to Tiraspol, the capital and largest city of Transnistria, located along the banks of the Nistru River.

Experience the unmistakable Soviet-era atmosphere, with Lenin statues, propaganda murals, and socialist symbols that feel untouched by time.

Enjoy a lunch break at a traditional local restaurant (meal not included, approx. €8), where you can taste classic Transnistrian and Slavic cuisine.

Afternoon: A Journey Through Soviet Heritage

Take part in a guided city tour of Tiraspol, visiting key landmarks:

Lenin’s Monument – a towering tribute to the Soviet leader

T-34 Tank Memorial – a World War II relic symbolizing military history

Suvorov Square – the city’s central square, surrounded by Soviet-era architecture and monuments

Afternoon: Castel Mimi Winery Experience

Later in the afternoon, we continue to Castel Mimi Winery, a world-renowned wine destination.

Explore the winery, its historic cellars, and barrel rooms

Enjoy a guided wine tasting with insights into local winemaking traditions

Meet winemakers and, depending on the season, sample wine directly from maturing tanks or barrels

Castel Mimi is listed among the most beautiful architectural masterpieces in the world of wine, making this a perfect finale to the day. Entry Requirements
