MEETING POINT & DEPARTURE IN POTOSÍ

Meet your guide at the main entrance of the Casa Nacional de Moneda in Potosí. Choose between two departure times, at 9:00 AM or 2:00 PM, depending on the option selected when booking. The experience begins and ends in Potosí.

MINING MARKET

Begin with a visit to Potosí's traditional Mining Market. Learn about the materials, tools, and supplies miners use in their daily work. You will also have the opportunity to purchase optional gifts for the miners, such as drinks or snacks.

CERRO RICO & SAFETY PREPARATION

Continue from Potosí toward Cerro Rico, the legendary mountain that has shaped the history and development of the city for centuries. Before entering the mine, receive the necessary safety equipment, including a helmet, boots, protective trousers, jacket, and headlamp.

ACTIVE MINE EXPERIENCE

Accompanied by your specialized bilingual guide, enter an active working mine and explore its underground galleries. Learn about the miners' daily working conditions, mineral extraction, tools, techniques, and traditional working methods.

MINING TRADITIONS & CULTURE

During the experience, discover the traditions and beliefs associated with mining life and gain a deeper understanding of the culture and history surrounding Cerro Rico.

RETURN TO POTOSÍ

After approximately 3 hours, leave the mining area and travel back to Potosí. Return the provided safety equipment and finish your Cerro Rico Active Mine experience in Potosí.
