Experience traditional Chinese heritage crafts in a cozy local artisan studio hidden inside Yanyue Hutong, one of Beijing’s historic alleyways near Dengshikou Subway Station (Line 5).

Surrounded by the charm of old Beijing hutong culture, you can choose from several traditional craft options, including lacquer bead polishing, tinfoil carving, mother-of-pearl inlay, and mugwort pounding craft. Under the guidance of experienced local artisans, you will create your own handmade souvenir.

Located in Beijing’s Dongcheng District, Yanyue Hutong offers a glimpse into the city’s traditional neighborhood life. After exploring nearby landmarks such as the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Nanluoguxiang, or Tiananmen Square, visitors can enjoy this authentic cultural experience away from crowded tourist attractions.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and travelers of all ages who want to experience Beijing beyond sightseeing. Discover local craftsmanship, traditional techniques, and the atmosphere of an old Beijing hutong while creating a meaningful keepsake.

The workshop duration is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the craft selected and each participant’s pace.
