You are visiting the Beatus Caves above Lake Thun. The adjacent cave museum showcases the geology of the cave system. It provides information about cave research and scientific findings. You can explore the museum with an audio guide.

You explore the cave on your own. Along the way, you’ll find 25 information boards in English and German. Additionally, you can use the free "Saint Beatus" app.

The roughly one-hour circular route involves 297 steps and climbs 87 metres in altitude. You'll walk through grottos, ravines, and halls, admiring impressive stalactite formations. Streams and waterfalls appear along the path. The stairs and paths are always damp, and the caves maintain a constant temperature between 8 and 10°C.

**Practical information:**

+ Not suitable for wheelchair users or strollers
+ Dog tickets can only be purchased onsite

+ To reach the caves, you need to walk about 15 minutes uphill from the parking lot or bus stop. The path is well maintained.
+ Ticket must be exchanged at the ticket office
+ The cave may be closed in heavy rain
+ Recommended: Appropriate clothing (8 to 10°C inside the caves) and sturdy footwear
