We continue walking through the local shopping market, to arrive at Miaouli Square in front of the distinguished Town Hall that preserves its imposing neoclassical character. We will pass by the National Library, the Cultural Center of Ermoupolis and stop at the Apollon Theatre which is still one of the most impressive opera theaters in Greece. We will continue to the War Memorial of the Unknown Soldier which stands just in front of the majestic St. Nicolas church, the patron Saint of the island, and just around the corner, we arrive to the famous Vaporia area that has a compilation of the impressive neoclassical mansions of the wealthy ship owners, which offer unique views to the “Little Venice” area, the Aegean Sea and Ermoupolis town.
A unique walk through Ermoupolis may come as a surprise, as one can hear the drums and orchestras playing music from various neoclassical buildings as you pass by the galleries, shops, fancy street districts with unique atmosphere and great choice of restaurants.
