Product Info

To discover a Shakespearean Messina, we invite you on a unique excursion that will take us through the locations evoked in “Much Ado About Nothing.” Our walk will take us along Via Lepanto, where stories of love, deceit, and reconciliation seem to float in the air. We will continue on to the Customs Palace, a silent witness to trade and conflict, and then cool off at the Fountain of Gennaro, a meeting place for citizens and travelers, just like the characters in the play. The Four Fountains will be our next stop, a symbol of the intertwined human stories that Shakespeare masterfully narrated. We will conclude our tour at the Cathedral, reflecting on how the Bard's plays are intertwined with the historical and spiritual events of Messina.

We will reflect on the religious struggles, the Inquisition, and the desire for social redemption that permeate his works, discovering surprising parallels with the history of Messina. This experience will not only be a journey through places, but an immersion into the depths of literature, history, and humanity, confirming that our quest for knowledge and beauty will never be “troppu traficu 'pi nenti” (too much trouble for nothing).

Meeting point: Behind the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, in front of the excavations of the Church of San Giacomo, Strada San Giacomo, Messina
