Product Info

  • Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and delve into the 'depths of living Japanese culture' that cannot be experienced through textbooks or behind museum glass. This tour is an intellectual time travel that explores Japanese history and spirituality, from the Jomon period to the present day, in a single day. In the morning, visit an active portable shrine (mikoshi) workshop. Enter a real workshop where craftsmen have been creating mikoshi that support Shinto festivals, and feel the passion for craftsmanship and Shinto culture in a space filled with the scent of cypress. For lunch, visit a ramen shop that originated in Chiba. Enjoy exquisite Miso Ramen while learning the deep story of 'Miso (fermentation culture),' a traditional Japanese seasoning. In the afternoon, enjoy exclusive access to a tea room at the 'Chiba City Tea Ceremony Hall,' where local tea masters gather. Savor matcha and Japanese sweets prepared right in front of you in the silence, and let your heart be cleansed by the essence of Japanese hospitality and spiritual culture (wabi-sabi). To conclude the journey, enjoy a sky walk on the Guinness World Record-certified 'Chiba Urban Monorail' and head to the National Special Historic Site 'Kasori Shell Midden.' Walk through the ancient forest where Jomon people lived in harmony with nature 5,000 years ago and reflect on the origins of the Japanese people. We provide a top-tier private experience, smartly escorted by a private hire vehicle and an English-speaking driver-guide until your return to your hotel in Tokyo.
